A: The Annual Fund provides much needed support for the day-to-day running of Somerset Medical Center. Gifts of all sizes are accepted and encouraged and every gift makes a difference!
Q: Will I receive any benefits in exchange for my Annual Fund gift?
A: No. Donations to the Annual Fund are direct charitable contributions. No goods, services or benefits are provided in exchange for Annual Fund gifts.
Q: Is my Annual Fund gift tax-deductible?
A: Yes. Donations to the Annual Fund are fully tax-deductible within the limits of the law.
Q: The hospital has many patients who pay for care. Does it really need Annual Fund contributions, too?
A: Yes! The costs of operating a state-of-the-art medical center are enormous, and private donations play an increasingly critical role in allowing the hospital to provide comprehensive care.
Q: How are Annual Fund gifts used?
A: Annual Fund donations support our annual operating budget. The entire Somerset Medical Center family-physicians, nurses, technicians, therapists, maintenance staff, food and nutrition staff, security, administration, finance staff-use operating funds to carry out vital work contributing to the success and efficiency of the medical center. Your gift to the Annual Fund benefits all essential operations, from purchasing medical supplies and equipment to providing lighting and climate control in operating rooms.
Q: Can I designate my Annual Fund gift for a particular use?
A: No. Annual Fund contributions provide vital unrestricted support for Somerset Medical Center's operations. This allows the medical center to put your gift to work directly where it is most needed.
Q: Can I make an Annual Fund gift in honor or memory of a loved one?
A: Yes. Charitable contributions are a thoughtful way to express your love or admiration for a special person. Somerset Medical Center Foundation will mail a letter to the person honored by your gift or to the family of a person memorialized by your gift, notifying them of your generosity. Please let us know the name of the person whom the gift will honor or commemorate, and the name and address of the person who should be notified of the donation if it is a memorial gift. (The amount of your gift is confidential.)
